Pogoplug Backup is the newest and most up-to-date version of Pogoplug’s companion software, which brings backup front and center. Today, we’re going to give you a brief guide to using the new software to back up your important files.

Earlier this week, we introduced Pogoplug Backup and Pogoplug PC: two pieces of Pogoplug software to help you preserve your memories, back up your stuff, and access all your files no matter where you are.
Today, we’re going through some of the changes and the new features to our Pogoplug software.

We have been rolling out the update slowly for the past week, but as of today, Pogoplug PC and Pogoplug Backup are available to everyone for download.
If you currently use Pogoplug Software, you will be prompted to upgrade to our free companion software, Pogoplug Backup, the next time you sign in.
Pogoplug Backup features a new UI that makes it easier than ever to use Pogoplug to back up your important files, photos, videos and music. Pogoplug Backup also includes our popular drive app, which allows you to access your Pogoplug like a local drive on your computer.
To use the remote access feature that was previously a part of Pogoplug Software, download Pogoplug PC.
Pogoplug PC allows you to access and stream the content stored on your computer(s) to any supported Web browser or your mobile device.
Download the free 30-day trial or buy Pogoplug PC for a one-time fee of $29.95.
If you have already purchased Pogoplug PC you should be upgraded to a full license when you download Pogoplug PC and log in to your account. If you experience problems please contact support at support@pogoplug.com.
Check back here later for a brief walk through of Pogoplug PC and Pogoplug Backup! And as always, let us know what you think.

So what’s new in the world of Pogoplug this week?
Well, we got a shoutout on Lifehacker, for one thing: “We’re currently fans of the Pogoplug software, which makes sharing your files super easy,” they wrote in their WeekendHacker article “Access Your Computer From Afar This Weekend.” Read article.
We’ve also gotten some great feedback on the latest update to our Android app. The update features a brand-new look, a quicker way to view your collaboration folders, and the ability to upload any kind of file. Get the newest version of Pogoplug for Android.
