We’re always listening to our customers to hear what kind of features and services are important to them. Recently we’ve noticed a large number of people starting to use their Pogoplugs for professional and business purposes, such as collaborative document editing and distributing huge files (to clients, colleagues, etc). From talking to some of you directly, we’ve come to learn that the product is becoming really useful for a lot of small businesses who create and share large documents, such as ad/creative agencies, photo professionals (esp wedding photographers), videographers, imaging facilities, etc. As a result, we’re excited to introduce two new features to help these professionals with their workflow (and we have a hunch regular consumers are going to like them too!). A couple months back we started a contest asking our awesome community of users to snap a picture of a Pogoplug in Fry’s Electronics and email us the results. We loved interacting with the participants and we met a lot of people who clearly love their Pogoplug! Since we had so much fun, we decided to run another contest — this time through Twitter. This contest is all about showing off how Pogoplug fits in with your home network. Starting today, tweet out a picture of your Pogoplug setup (using the Twitter share feature in my.pogoplug.com) and you are eligible to win an iPad. Continue reading →
It seems spring fever has been replaced by iPad fever. There’s a buzz in the air about ship dates and those who haven’t yet bought an iPad are fretting over whether to get the 16, 32 or 64GB model.
We think the iPad is a great new way to consume multimedia. The intuitive multi-touch interface, the immersive high-resolution screen and the extreme ease of portability mean it is now easier and more enjoyable than ever to share photos and watch videos on the go. The iPad’s only limitation is the relatively small amount of data the device can hold. It’s like having a fast, cool car with a small gas tank. Just when you are getting revved up, you’re out of gas. The Pogoplug gives the iPad an infinite gas tank because the Pogoplug service allows you to continuously stream your media directly to your iPad. You don’t have to choose which files, photos and videos to put on your iPad because you will have access to them all. Though we at Pogoplug are as anxious as anyone to get our hands on one, we aren’t worrying about internal memory because we know that with the help of a Pogoplug you can get as much data as want on your iPad. Today we are happy to add some great new features to Pogoplug!
With game console support, Pogoplug owners can now easily access, share, and stream their media directly to their Xbox 360 or PS3 from any local or remotely located Pogoplug. Gamers can watch home movies from their Pogoplug connected external hard drive on their Xbox 360 or PS3, share slideshows or listen to their entire music library without ever putting down their game controller. The Xbox 360 or PS3 automatically sees the drives connected to the Pogoplug and the contents of other shared Pogoplugs. Continue reading →
Pogoplug has made it’s way to Canada on the TigerDirect.ca retailer website. We’re pleased to be launching in Canada with the same great retail partner that we first launched Pogoplug with in the U.S. in late 2009.
The partnership with TigerDirect has allowed Pogoplug to reach an audience of consumers who are hungry for cool new products at a great value and that is exactly what TigerDirect is known for.
To purchase a Pogoplug in Canada, click here or simply go to their site and search for Pogoplug.
It’s now at Fry’s Electronics! Be one of the first 20 people to take a cell phone picture of a Pogoplug on the shelf at Fry’s and receive a gift package.
Pogoplug is on the shelves at Fry’s Electronics 34 locations across the country. We’ve seen them and can verify that they are on store shelves but we haven’t trained the staff or created any in-store displays yet.
Go to your nearest Fry’s Electronics and snap a picture with your cell phone and email it to contest@pogoplug.com. Be sure to include ‘Fry’s Electronics’ in the subject line, along with the location of the store.
The first 20 submissions will be contacted to receive a gift package. Fry’s Electronics is an awesome store with thousands of cool products, but the floor staff is not yet fully aware of Pogoplug, so finding a pogoplug on the shelf may be tougher than you imagine. It’s our own version of ‘Where’s Waldo’ but maybe even harder.
Good luck!
