Status Update: More Pogoplugs Shipping

On June 30th we announced a backorder that delayed fulfilling new orders. It’s hard to keep Pogoplugs on the shelf, which we’ll take as a complement.  The high demand for the Pogoplug shows people are really happy with our product and they’re helping us spread the word.  We also know how frustrating this can be for new customers, so we are being as transparent as possible to keep you updated.

Today, we’re happy to report a shipment has arrived to our distributor in California.  This covers a good amount of our backorders, which we’ll start processing immediately, starting at the front of the order queue.  If you placed your order between June 23rd and July 10th, then you’ll be the first wave of customers to get your Pogoplug.  For those of you who ordered a Pogoplug after July 10th, we are doing everything we can to fulfill your order as soon as possible – we expect a quick turnaround and we’ll post again when we have concrete details.

    Hi,

If you were really transparent, you would post the shipping dates or delays on the online store. I ordered because I assumed it would ship right away. Now, it is anyone’s guess when it will ship. Why don’t you know? I work for a manufacturing firm and we know all that sort of stuff. When you run a business like this, you better get it together or you won’t be around for long. Mark my words.

I don’t want to sound shrill; it’s a new exciting product and congratulations to you for the heavy demand. But since Bob brought it up… I’m disappointed that my expected delivery just slipped from early August to “who knows?” but I understand the implications of ramping up and not having a history with your supply line.

When I ordered on 7/19, I’d read on the blog that you’d placed orders that were expected late July. I figured that meant I’d see a Pogoplug early August, even though you knew on July 19 (or should have) that you wouldn’t be able to cover my order with your July shipments. It would be more honest to say something like, “due to high demand, allow 6-8 weeks.” (That’s hypothetical. I still don’t know whether my delivery can happen inside of a 6-8 week window.)

So my beef is communication. Last published word on supply was June 30 and it has been misleading, at best, since July 10.

I’m sure supply issues will get ironed out soon enough and it looks like you have a winner.

That explains it! I just fired off an email to customer support regarding where is my product? Just got finished visiting my Mom in Vegas and was expecting a package waiting for me at her house. I placed my order several weeks ago. To my surprise it wasn’t there! So, now I need the shipping address changed to where I live. I wonder how many other folks have a similar issue? If there is a shipping delay then state that before we order the product. It really wouldn’t have been a big deal. Now, I need to jump through hoops to rearrange shipping. I agree with Bob above. You might want to sell this through a company like Amazon who has a very strong logisitics chain. I love your product from what I have seen so far and want to see you succeed!

    Regards,

    David M
